Hey hey!
I’m so excited for your session coming up! We’re going to create some stunning images of your family, and this is the perfect location for that!
This location is magical! Here is the location on google maps:
I don’t have any phone service up there, and I will be shooting 5 sessions up there on Tuesday, so I won’t be available after about 3:00 on that day to answer questions. I want to make sure you know exactly where you’re headed! You’re going to head up the Alpine Loop up AF canyon.
You’ll go about 15ish minutes from the entrance of the canyon (if you’re coming from the mouth of AF canyon. It is also possible to get there from Provo canyon, so follow your maps.) Once you pass Salamander Camp Ground, you’re super close. Keep going just another minute or two. You’ll come around the corner and should see my white mini van parked on the side of the road on your right, and I’ll be in the field on the left! You’ll know you’re there, its gorgeous!
If you get up to the Summit Trailhead, you’ve gone too far (it’s a big hiking area with a big sign and parking lot). Turn around and go back just a few turns. 🙂
If you’re confused, shoot me a text before 2 pm on Tuesday! I can send you a pin or give you even more specific directions if needed!
Now, about your actual session!
As far as your session, here are my recommendations:
-Feed yours kids before you come. We don’t want hangry kids!
-Please arrive 10 or so minutes early. Because mini sessions are so short, your time will start promptly at your scheduled time, and will end promptly 30 minutes later. I totally understand that things happen, but I stack mini session dates with multiple families to be able to offer discounted sessions. So being late will mean a shorter session. No exceptions.
-Please don’t bring treats to bribe your kids. Kids often get fixated on the treats mom brought, and can’t think about anything else. If you feel like treats are the only way to get their cooperation, let me know and I’ll bring some fruit snacks or smarties. When they’re my snacks, kids don’t feel entitled to them. Another alternative is to tell them they get something (ice cream, or a trip to the dollar store, or something) AFTER the session. But trust me when I say, I’m good at getting your kids to smile and cooperate without treats!
-Try to relax and let the session flow. I know family photos are stressful on mom, but once you arrive let me assume the stress and try to have a good time!
-Please shoot me a message before the day of your session if there is anything I need to know (maybe you have a child who is sensitive to loud noises, or dad can’t walk up stairs very well, or you want to make sure we get a photo of your twins holding hands and walking, etc. etc. etc.) Please let me know about any special requests or extenuating circumstances in advance!
