Hey hey!
I’m so excited for your session coming up! We’re going to create some stunning images of your family, and even though it’s getting late in the year, this location is still GORGEOUS!
I know we’re all stressssssing about the weather. At the time I’m writing this, the forecast for Lehi on Saturday is chilly (high 40’s), but not rainy/snowy. I’m going to go ahead and plan to shoot, because starting on Sunday it will be getting dark around 5, and it’s supposed to get a lot colder. However, if something changes, I’ll text you and we can discuss other options (rescheduling/locations/etc.) Let’s just all be sending real good vibes that Saturday works out!
This location is so beautiful! You will park in the dirt parking lot here: https://goo.gl/maps/c3inh42bWtR1kdaDA, and then walk down the path about 7-8 minutes (it’s an easy paved path!), and you’ll see me shooting either on the path or just off the path on the right toward the lake.
Here is the location on google maps:
If you’re confused, shoot me a text before 2 pm on Saturday! I can send you a pin or give you even more specific directions if needed!

Here is what the location looked like yesterday (Tuesday!) Still tons of colors & leaves (lots of the leaves are just barely or haven’t even started changing yet!) So you’re not allowed to stress about the location! It will be amazing!
Now, about your actual session!
As far as your session, here are my recommendations:
-Feed yours kids before you come. We don’t want hangry kids!
-It will probably be chilly, and cold kids are cranky. So if you feel like you’ll need it, bring coats/blankets/hand warmers/etc. to help keep little ones warm between shots!
-Please arrive 10 or 15 minutes early. Because mini sessions are so short, your time will start promptly at your scheduled time, and will end promptly 30 minutes later. I totally understand that things happen, but I stack mini session dates with multiple families to be able to offer discounted sessions. So being late will mean a shorter session. No exceptions.
–Please don’t bring treats to bribe your kids. Kids often get fixated on the treats mom brought, and can’t think about anything else. If you feel like treats are the only way to get their cooperation, let me know and I’ll bring some fruit snacks or smarties. When they’re my snacks, kids don’t feel entitled to them. Another alternative is to tell them they get something (ice cream, or a trip to the dollar store, or something) AFTER the session. But trust me when I say, I’m good at getting your kids to smile and cooperate without treats!
-Try to relax and let the session flow. I know family photos are stressful on mom, but once you arrive let me assume the stress and try to have a good time!
-Please shoot me a message before the day of your session if there is anything I need to know (maybe you have a child who is sensitive to loud noises, or dad can’t walk up stairs very well, or you want to make sure we get a photo of your twins holding hands and walking, etc. etc. etc.) Please let me know about any special requests or extenuating circumstances in advance!
I can’t wait to see you and photograph your family! We’re going to have a blast!
XOXO,
