Woohoo, I’m so excited that mini sessions are almost here! You are going to love the photos we create in this magical location! Here are all the details you’re going to need.
The location is the Box Elder Camp Ground, located in Mantua, UT. This is just about 7-10 minutes off the freeway, just starting up the canyon from Brigham City toward Logan.

It’s right off the highway. You’ll exit at the first Mantua exit, and follow the signs to the campground. You’ll go into the campground, and follow the road until you see the poppy field (it will be on your right, and it’s impossible to miss.) Park in the dirt parking lot right on the far side of the field. I’ll be there, just look for me with my camera and camera backpack. 🙂
As far as your session, here are my recommendations:
-Feed yours kids before you come. We don’t want hangry kids!
-Please arrive 10 or so minutes early. Because mini sessions are so short, your time will start promptly at your scheduled time, and will end promptly 30 minutes later. I totally understand that things happen, so if you are running late, please keep me updated by texting me at 801-362-1889.
-Please don’t bring treats to bribe your kids. Kids often get fixated on the treats mom brought, and can’t think about anything else. If you feel like treats are the only way to get their cooperation, let me know and I’ll bring some fruit snacks or smarties. When they’re my snacks, kids don’t feel entitled to them. Another alternative is to tell them they get something (ice cream, or a trip to the dollar store, or something) AFTER the session. But trust me when I say, I’m good at getting your kids to smile and cooperate without treats!
-Try to relax and let the session flow. I know family photos are stressful on mom, but once you arrive let me assume the stress and try to have a good time!
-Please shoot me a message before the day of your session if there is anything I need to know (maybe you have a child who is sensitive to loud noises, or dad can’t walk up stairs very well, or you want to make sure we get a photo of your twins holding hands and walking, etc. etc. etc.) Please let me know about any special requests or extenuating circumstances in advance!
