Hey there!
I am so excited for our session this Wednesday October 12th! The weather is looking amazing, the location is gorgeous right now–I seriously can’t wait! Here’s everything you need to know:
I love this location. It’s got lots of variety–aspens and pines, trails and open fields, boulders & logs, we *might* even get lucky and still have some flowers! It’s one of my favorites! The views of the mountains are distant, but definitely still visible! It’s going to be soooo good!
Here are the exact location coordinates:
I don’t have any phone service up there, and I will be shooting 5 sessions up there on Saturday, so I won’t be available after about 3:00 on Saturday to answer questions. I want to make sure you know exactly where you’re headed, so if you have any questions, get in touch with me before that!
You’re going to head up the Alpine Loop up AF canyon. You’ll go about 20ish minutes from the entrance of the canyon (if you’re coming from the mouth of AF canyon. It is also possible to get there from Provo canyon, so follow your maps.) DON’T turn at the turnoff for Tibble Fork. Stick to the main road (Tibble Fork forks off to the left, just keep right.) You’ll go along the most beautiful, scenic road onto the Alpine Loop. When you get to the T in the road, go left to continue along the Alpine Loop (the other option is Timpaooneke Camp Ground, which is not where you want to go.) Go past Salamander Flats. The next sign after that (maybe another 3-5 minutes) is going to be for the Summit Trailhead. That’s where we’re shooting! Park, and a few minutes before your session time, head down the trail to find me! I might be right at the entrance, or I might be a little bit down the right fork of the trail. I’m usually the only one there, so you should be able to identify me! But if not, I’m 5’8″ and have short, dark hair. 😉
If you’re confused, feel free to text me any time before Saturday at 2:30!

Now, about your actual session!
As far as your session, here are my recommendations:
-Feed yours kids before you come. We don’t want hangry kids!
-Please arrive 10 or so minutes early. Because mini sessions are so short, your time will start promptly at your scheduled time, and will end promptly 30 minutes later. I totally understand that things happen, but I stack mini session dates with multiple families to be able to offer discounted sessions. So being late will mean a shorter session. No exceptions.
-Please don’t bring treats to bribe your kids. Kids often get fixated on the treats mom brought, and can’t think about anything else. If you feel like treats are the only way to get their cooperation, let me know and I’ll bring some fruit snacks or smarties. When they’re my snacks, kids don’t feel entitled to them. Another alternative is to tell them they get something (ice cream, or a trip to the dollar store, or something) AFTER the session. But trust me when I say, I’m good at getting your kids to smile and cooperate without treats!
-Try to relax and let the session flow. I know family photos are stressful on mom, but once you arrive let me assume the stress and try to remember that we’re here to capture your love for your family!
-Please shoot me a message before the day of your session if there is anything I need to know (maybe you have a child who is sensitive to loud noises, or dad can’t walk up stairs very well, or you want to make sure we get a photo of your twins holding hands and walking, etc. etc. etc.) Please let me know about any special requests or extenuating circumstances in advance!
